When exporting SAS date and datetime columns to Microsoft Excel, dates prior to 1900 display as ####s in Microsoft Excel. The reason this occurs is that Microsoft Excel does not support dates prior to 1900. Earlier versions of SAS Enterprise Guide exported date values as characters.
To circumvent the problem, export the data as a .csv file, and then open the .csv file in Microsoft Excel.
